It confuses many non-Uyghur’s with tobacco pipe as it is looks like tobacco pipe but in fact it is pee pipe for Uyghur babies and works as a diaper. It is only used when the baby is in cradle. Most Uyghur’s starts to put their baby in cradle when they are around 40 to 5o days old till about 2 years old or more less. In between these times, Uyghur babies sleeps in the cradle. When the baby sleeps in the cradle, they use the pipe on right for girls and the pipe on the left for boys so that it delivers the pee to can underneath the cradle so that baby kept dry. But Uyghur’s don’t use it when the baby isn’t in the cradle but instead they use piece of cloth in the past as a diaper but now uses modern diaper.
